NHS wasting more money
Last week my husband had his first covid vaccine after he was telephoned and given an appointment the next day. He duly went and all was done in excellent timing. However he has received a letter, three pages of A4 inviting him to arrange for an appointment for the vaccine he had a week ago. Do they not keep proper records? Is there no collaboration between the department sending out these letters and the one that records who has been vaccinated? What a waste of money. Worse than that, in my view at least, was the two pages devoted to the different languages you can ask for the letter to be sent to you, some of which I haven't even heard of. Now it is my view that anyone living in this country should have the common sense and good grace to learn the language of the county where they are using the health and other public services. I have travelled over Europe for holidays and have always tried to use the local language rather than expect the citizens of the country to speak English. How much is this translation costing the NHS? In a service that will always be under funded is translation into different languages a correct use of funds. I say it is not especially when free learn English lessons are available to these lazy people..
